Henderson County denies allegations in wrongful firing suit answer

HENDERSONVILLE – Henderson County denied any wrongdoing in its response to a March lawsuit brought by a former employee suing over her 2025 firing, which she alleges was wrongful.

An answer filed April 28 in Henderson County Superior Court claims the county is entitled to governmental immunity and asked the court to dismiss the case and to award the county costs and fees. It also asked for a trial by jury.

Angela Bryner, who until April 2025 worked as a licensed clinical therapist at the county’s employee wellness center, alleged in a March 3 complaint that she was fired after attempting to report illegal conduct by her supervisor…
