Contractor, 5 first responders taken to hospitals after carbon monoxide exposure at south Indianapolis home

INDIANAPOLIS — A contractor using a gas-powered saw in an unventilated south side basement was hospitalized Wednesday, May 13, when he was overcome by high levels of carbon monoxide, a fire department spokesperson said.

It happened 1 p.m. in the 1300 block of Maynard Drive, which is near Madison Avenue and Southport Road.
