Family of man shot by ELPD after stabbing release photos of his body

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The family of 21-year-old Isaiah Kirby, who was shot and killed by the East Lansing Police Department, and their attorney have shared images of his body.

On April 15, Michigan State University student Kirby was shot and killed by ELPD after he reportedly refused to drop the knife and ran at the officers following a theft and stabbing incident near the intersection of Abbot Road and Lake Lansing Road.

The stabbing victim, 63-year-old attorney Douglas Mielock, was released from the hospital a few days later after undergoing emergency surgery for multiple stab wounds, police say…
