SUV strikes woman crossing street in Pacific Beach, police investigating

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A 67-year-old woman suffered serious injuries Tuesday night after she was struck by an SUV while crossing a street in Pacific Beach, authorities said.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the collision happened around 9:55 p.m. near the intersection of Mission Boulevard and Reed Avenue.

Police said the woman was walking in the north crosswalk when a 25-year-old man driving a Toyota 4Runner eastbound on Reed Avenue made a left turn to head north onto Mission Boulevard. The SUV collided with the pedestrian at that time.

The woman was transported to a local hospital with a fractured pelvis. Her current condition has not been released.
