The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning at 4:26 p.m. on Wednesday in effect until 4:45 p.m. for Cayuga, Cortland, Onondaga and Seneca counties.
The storms are predicted to bring nickel-sized hail (0.88 inches) and wind gusts of up to 60 mph.
“At 4:24 p.m., severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Cato to Sheldrake, moving northeast at 40 mph,” explains the weather service. “Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.”…
