WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — Wednesday, May 13, marks one year since a horrific, fiery pileup crash on I-75 near Atlanta that claimed the lives of three people, including a Wellington man.
The crash involved a tractor trailer, and in the year since, the victim’s family has been pushing for stronger safety standards to prevent similar tragedies.
Mason Powell was just 23 years old when he was killed while driving home to Wellington. According to the Georgia State Patrol, a tractor trailer crossed the median into oncoming traffic, crashing into several vehicles, including Powell’s car and two other semis.
