Shreveport Police Seek Help In Locating Armed Suspect Torance Smith

Shreveport police have launched a city-wide manhunt for a 20-year-old man following a daylight shooting that left a victim in critical condition. Detectives have officially named a suspect and are warning the public that he is considered “armed and dangerous.”

Shooting on Woodford Street Leaves One Fighting for Life

At approximately 4:10 PM on the afternoon of March 31, 2026, Shreveport Police officers responded to emergency calls in the 3000 block of Woodford Street. Upon arrival, they discovered a victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the lower body.

The Shreveport Fire Department provided immediate medical intervention before transporting the victim to Ochsner Health. Due to the life-threatening nature of the injuries, the victim was rushed into emergency surgery and was unable to provide investigators with a statement.

Detectives Identify Suspect in Attempted Murder Investigation

Following the shooting, the Shreveport Police Department’s Homicide Unit took over the scene. By analyzing physical evidence and interviewing witnesses, detectives were able to determine the suspect.

On April 1, 2026, investigators successfully secured an arrest warrant for Torance Smith (B/M, DOB: 02/09/2006). Smith is currently wanted on one count of Attempted Second Degree Murder.
