Tri-State police chief on paid leave amid investigation

BETHEL, Ohio (WXIX) – A Tri-State police chief is on paid administrative leave amid an outside investigation, FOX19 NOW has confirmed.

Bethel Police Chief Chad Essert was notified May 8 that he was suspended due to “a formal investigation into allegations involving your conduct related to the operations of the Bethel Police Department,” according to a memo titled “Investigation” to him from Mayor Jay Noble.
