Homelessness increases in Amarillo, 2026 PIT Count results released

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Amarillo Continuum of Care, along with the City of Amarillo, has released the 2026 results from the Point-in-Time Count for homeless people in the community.

According to officials, the PIT Count for this year revealed that an additional 87 people are experiencing homelessness in Amarillo, compared to 2025. A total of 728 people are homeless according to the PIT Count.
