Amarillo man sentenced to more than 17 years in prison

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – An Amarillo man has been sentenced to more than 17 years in federal prison. Pedro Juan Montes will serve 17 and a half years after pleading guilty to Distribution and Possession with Intent to Distribute 5 Grams or More of Methamphetamine.

Montes was arrested on multiple federal drug charges last summer.

Court Documents show that Montes sold meth to a confidential source on multiple occasions during an investigation by the Potter County Sheriff’s Office.

That investigation lead to a search warrant being served in June of last year. During that search law enforcement found meth, cocaine, and other drugs at Montes’ home…
