About one year after construction began, the reimagined Canal Park on Monroe Avenue is taking shape along the Grand River, with new features emerging from the $9.8 million overhaul.
The project includes a multi‑use plaza and pavilion, an immersive Owashtanong (Grand River) playscape designed with the Grand River Bands of Ottawa Indians, a 14‑foot‑wide multi‑use trail, scenic overlooks and a barrier‑free canoe and kayak launch.
