Facility terminates company that hired aide who allegedly ripped off resident

A local facility has terminated a company that hired an aide who allegedly stole more than $17,000 from a resident.

Elizabeth Marie Patsches, 24, of Silver Springs, was arrested Monday on charges of exploitation of the elderly, fraud, theft and forgery. She was employed by Vicroy Home LLC and had worked for a female resident since November at American House assisted living in Wildwood, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department.

“American House has been working closely with the Wildwood Police Department in connection with charges related to theft and fraud filed against a woman who was providing services to a resident in our facility,” a representative of the company said in a statement issued to Villages-New.com.

“The individual who was charged was working for a subcontracted provider that offered routine daily care and assistance services at our Wildwood, Florida community. Upon learning of the situation, we immediately terminated our relationship with the vendor and the individual, and they have been prohibited from entering our property,” the statement said.
