Missing Window Switch Leads to Cocaine Find During Traffic Stop on I81 in Preble

A traffic stop on Interstate 81 in Cortland County led to the arrest of two Staten Island residents after State Police say a Trooper discovered suspected cocaine hidden inside the vehicle door and determined the driver was impaired by drugs.

New York State Police said a Trooper observed a BMW 7 Series speeding and committing multiple traffic violations while traveling north on Interstate 81 in the town of Preble on Tuesday, May 12.

The vehicle was stopped near mile-marker 61, where police identified the driver as Jason Andrew Wilk, 45, of Staten Island. During the stop, troopers discovered Wilk was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license…
