After nearly 30 years working in law enforcement, the newly appointed Bay Minette Police Chief James Rosier said he’s ready to bring a new vision to the city’s police department.
“In the nineties, the world of policing began to change and became more militaristic and we kind of lost our way and forgot that we’re servants of the community,” Chief Rosier said. “We are their guardians and we’ve developed more of a warrior mentality.”
Chief Rosier has been on the job for a little more than a week now and said the department is shifting its mindset as the city continues to grow and change.
“As the city grows, so does the population. As the population grows, it will evolve,” Chief Rosier explained. “If we stay behind in our 1990s style policing, we’re going to be left behind. We won’t be able to adapt or mold ourselves to what’s coming.”…
