Traffic to be interrupted for 3 months as major downtown Memphis road closure starts

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A major road closure in downtown Memphis will start Friday and expected to last for about three months, according to Memphis Light, Gas and Water (MLGW).

The utility company will shut down parts of North Parkway to work on new underground electric infrastructure. The closure is between Danny Thomas Boulevard and Dunlap Street — about a half-mile stretch on a major roadway.

MLGW also said both directions of Manassas Street will be closed from North Parkway to Galloway Street…
