Chickamauga Lake hits 40-year low: TVA warns Memorial Day boaters to take precautions

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The Tennessee Valley Authority is issuing a safety warning to boaters ahead of Memorial Day and the upcoming summer months.

The agency says boaters on Chickamauga Lake are running into trouble as water levels drop to what it says are the lowest levels in 40 years.

Brian Lee, owner of TowBoatUS , told us the lake is at least 4 feet below what it needs to be.
