Federal jury finds Florida duo guilty in USF student’s fatal fentanyl overdose

TAMPA, Fla. (CBS12) — Two Florida men were convicted in federal court in connection with the drug-related death of a University of South Florida student, prosecutors announced Friday.

A federal jury found 38-year-old Miguel Cintron and 22-year-old Darrius Gustafson, both of Tampa, guilty of conspiracy to distribute fentanyl resulting in death, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

Each man now faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 20 years in federal prison, with the possibility of life behind bars, according to the sheriff’s office…
