CINCINNATI (WKRC) – The Local 12 family is continuing to remember colleague and friend Liz Bonis, who died last month following a private battle with colon cancer, with help from a local artist and cancer survivor.
Brent Billingsley, also known as Mysta Bee, visited Local 12 to create a tribute portrait of Bonis in a paint-spilling art session meant to help with healing. Billingsley, a cancer survivor, first met Bonis two years ago when she began following his journey with stage four head and neck cancer.
“You expect people to do their job—you don’t expect people to go the extra mile. And she was great at her job, and I was at the studio plenty for that part, but you don’t expect people to text you at 7 a.m. on the way to the gym to say, ‘Hey, how are you doing?'” Billingsley said.
