Evansville man sentenced to nearly 100 years in prison for 2018 murder

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – The man convicted in the 2018 murder of Amanda Weir received his sentence on Friday.

Robert Ballard Jr. was sentenced to a combined 95 years in prison for murder and attempted murder.

Ballard was originally charged in 2018, but was declared not competent to stand trial eight times. His case went to trial in 2022, but it was deemed a mistrial as his sanity was called into question…
