Cumberland County taxpayers reminded of May 20 deadline to appeal property values

Cumberland County property owners have until May 20, 2026, at 5 p.m. to submit a formal appeal for their 2026 real property assessed value to the Board of Equalization and Review.

Property owners may appeal their value by submitting a formal appeal to the Board of Equalization and Review. Property owners are encouraged to provide supporting evidence for consideration. Examples of evidence include appraisals, comparable properties, income and expense statements, cost estimates of structural repairs or pictures of the property showing other than typical conditions. This information will be considered to determine any effect on value established per the 2025 Schedule of Values.

Property owners planning to submit a formal appeal will need to submit six copies of their appeal and supporting documentation for the Board of Equalization and Review.
