Dead bird found with West Nile virus in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A dead bird with West Nile Virus was found in Fresno, marking the first detection of West Nile Virus in Fresno County this year, according to the county department of public health.

Health officials say the discovery confirms that the virus is active in Fresno County. People living in Fresno County have been asked to do what they can to protect themselves from mosquito bites.
