MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A 30-year-old Grand Bay woman is being held at Mobile County Metro Jail on several charges Friday despite her alleged attempts to thwart her middle-of-the-night arrest in downtown Mobile.
Mobile police said it was about 12:36 a.m. when officers were in the area of Dauphin Street and Joachim Street responding to a harassment complaint when Janti Robinson walked away from an officer, refusing to comply. Police said she was detained for questioning and began kicking a patrol vehicle’s window.
Police said Robinson slipped one hand out of a handcuff and attempted to run away on foot. While detained, police said, she continued refusing officers’ commands to get back into the patrol vehicle.
The MPD said an officer was kicked and bitten by the Robinson during the incident…
