The Village of Liverpool Police released a statement after a video has been circulating online showing the arrest of an individual in the city of Syracuse.
Liverpool Police say on Wednesday, May 13 around 9:17 p.m., an officer of the Village of Liverpool Police Department made a vehicle and traffic stop, in the vicinity of 6700 Onondaga Lake Parkway for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the driver of the vehicle, police say the driver provided the officer with a Georgia driver’s license intentionally identifying himself as Janaz Graves. During the stop police say it was discovered that Mr. Graves was in possession of an unlawful amount of cannabis. Mr. Graves was placed under arrest and processed at the stop location for the charge of Unlawful Possession of Cannabis and released on an appearance ticket.
After releasing Graves on the appearance ticket, the Village of Liverpool Police say the officer discovered that he was still in possession of Mr. Graves wallet and the wallet was unable to be returned to Mr. Graves as he had left the immediate area of the stop location. While trying to ascertain a phone number for Mr. Graves to return the wallet, the officer discovered that the driver had allegedly provided a false identification and his name was, in fact, La’Seir Graves, who showed to also have a warrant out of the Town of Dewitt…
