APPLETON (WLUK) — A park honoring a fallen Appleton firefighter unveiled some new additions Friday.
A dedication ceremony was held for the new pavilion at Lundgaard Park on the city’s north side.
Instead of a traditional ribbon-cutting, the ceremony included a “hose uncoupling,” recognizing firefighters and symbolizing their connection to the community. Lundgaard’s family did the honors.
The fire department also unveiled memorial plaques honoring four Appleton firefighters who died in the line of duty.
