Kettle Black Kitchen (1835 Monroe St.) closed its doors on May 9 as owners Sara Anderson and Christopher Lund prepare to renovate and reopen with a new concept: begonia.
According to a press release and note from the owners, the concept for “begonia.” is based on Lund’s desire to continue serving the Latin cuisine he has cooked his whole career. The mother- and son-in-law duo have been working toward opening a new concept in the Kettle Black Kitchen space.
“Kettle Black Kitchen gave us the chance to get to know [guests] and reminded us every week why we do this,” Anderson and Lund say. “But there has always been a restaurant that Chef Christopher was born to open.”…
