Rapid City man arrested for assault, vandalism Thursday

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A Rapid City man was arrested Thursday night for aggravated assault and throwing a rock through the windshield of a vehicle.

Shawn Marrowbone, 35, of Rapid City, was arrested for aggravated assault, felony vandalism and a parole hold.

Around 8 p.m. Thursday, Rapid City Police were dispatched to a parking lot near East North Street for a report of a physical altercation, according to a statement sent from RCPD. When police arrived, they located a man suspect actively assaulting another man on the ground. Officers were able to pull the suspect away from the victim and detain him.

After officers spoke to witnesses, it was determined that the suspect had thrown a rock through the windshield of a parked vehicle at 415 East North Street. The owner of the vehicle confronted the suspect, and at that time, the suspect started assaulting the victim prior to the police arriving…
