Last day for Christ the King Elementary

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — School was in session one final day at Christ the King Elementary in Sioux Falls Friday.

Parents fought long to keep the school open, after the Bishop O’Gorman Catholic Schools announced its closure. Parents appealed for the decision, calling for more transparency and explanation behind the decision.

“Christ the King School was started in early 1955 with grades 1st through 4th. Instruction was provided by the Benedictine Sisters from Sacred Heart Convent in Yankton,” the school’s website said.
