Ducks Strike Out 17 Times in Crushing 2-1 Defeat Against USC

Oregon had plenty of chances Thursday night. It just couldn’t cash them in.

The Ducks struck out 17 times, grounded into multiple key double plays and wasted another strong pitching performance in a crushing 2-1, 11-inning loss to USC at PK Park.

The roughest night belonged to junior shortstop Maddox Molony, who grounded into three double plays and struck out looking with the winning run at second in the bottom of the 11th. Once projected as a potential first-round pick in the 2026 MLB Draft, Molony’s average has now dropped to .232 as Oregon enters the most important stretch of its season…
