WEST ALLIS, Wis. (WFRV) – A driver who admitted to racing on a busy Wisconsin street had their vehicle impounded after police discovered more than $1,000 in unpaid fines.
According to the West Allis Police Department, officers were monitoring traffic near 76th Street and Beloit Road when they observed two vehicles traveling at a high rate of speed.

An officer reportedly clocked one of the vehicles at nearly 90 miles per hour in a posted 30 miles per hour zone.
Police were able to catch up to the vehicle and conduct a traffic stop. The driver admitted to racing and was cited for reckless driving. Authorities said the vehicle was impounded because the owner owed more than $1,000 in unpaid fines.
