Population growth is outpacing job growth in downtown Seattle, DSA says

SEATTLE — Seattle had the fourth-fastest growth rate increase last year among major U.S. cities, according to new data from the U.S. Census Bureau.

Data shows the city’s population increased by 11, 572 people, or roughly 1.5%, between July 1, 2024, and July 1, 2025. Seattle’s total population hit 784,777 people last year, which is a new record.
