Fire service gap raises concerns in DeKalb County’s Jackson Township

DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) — The City of Auburn addressed residents’ concerns on Friday after a consistent gap in emergency services that has yet to be resolved.

Auburn’s Mayor Dave Clark issued an urgent public notice to residents of Jackson Township due to the lack of emergency and fire service coverage for the township.

Auburn confirmed in June 2025 at an Auburn Common Council meeting that it would no longer provide contracted fire protection to Jackson Township after the agreement expired.
