Fort Wayne Youtheatre hosting summer camps

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — “No matter what age your kid, if you’ve got an over-rambunctious, over-dramatic kid running around your house… You can send them to us.”

That’s Christopher Murphy’s pitch to parents for Fort Wayne Youtheatre’s summer camps.

Muprhy is the group’s art director and is always looking for ways to champion the theatrical arts in Fort Wayne, even if the motivation for the agents (parents) of their talent (kids) is to get them out of the house for the summer.

“It’s really cool to see them walk in the door, our summer camps in a lot of ways we tend to see those as gateways for new kids coming into Youtheatre,” Murphy said. “You see them walk in the door so tentative and quiet, and then by the time they leave, they are all friends and Broadway stars.”…
