Mom, teen son facing charges after drug deal led to shooting in South Nashville. Search underway for suspect accused of firing automatic rifle at victim

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Metro Nashville Police Department announced the arrest of a teen boy and his mother in connection with a shooting in the area of McMurray Drive and Greenleaf Drive that left a 19-year-old seriously injured.

Police said that the 16-year-old boy and the victim arranged to meet in the parking lot of McMurray Manor apartments for a drug deal. The deal went bad, which led to shots being fired.

The teen admitted to officers that he shot a pistol, which he says was in response to shots being fired from the car driven by the 19-year-old. Police said that as the car drove away, more shots were fired at the vehicle by a suspect using an automatic rifle…
