Bernalillo County commissioners approved a nearly $1.2 million contract to restore the pedestrian bridge over Tijeras Creek that was washed away during the massive July 2025 canyon storm.

Workers completed demolition of the old bridge in October 2025 after engineers determined its pier foundations were completely destabilized following the storm that sent parts of the bridge more than a mile down the creek.
