2 incidents in NW Iowa town: Man faces attempted murder charge, another dies from gunshot wound

INWOOD, Iowa (KTIV) – A man is in jail, and another is dead after authorities in Northwest Iowa responded to two separate incidents, both happening within 30 minutes of each other.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says the incidents took place in Inwood, Iowa, in the early-morning hours of Saturday, May 16. The town is located near the Iowa/South Dakota border and has a population of just over 900.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says these two incidents are unrelated, and there is no threat to the public.
