PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Active weather continues to keep Portland area temperatures cooler than average for the start of the weekend.
A few scattered rain showers could become strong enough to produce a bolt of lightning and a clap of thunder on Saturday. Not everyone will see the electric storms, but heavy downpours and small hail are possible for some. The greatest communities to see thunderstorm activity remain over the state of Washington. A small section of Northern Oregon holds that same potential early this weekend.
Outdoor activities like the Oregon International Air Show in Hillsboro or the UFO Fest in McMinnville will have to dodge a few isolated rain showers and the threat of a thunderstorm or two Saturday. Drying conditions will take shape in Hillsboro by Sunday.
