PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — Providence City Council members failed to override Mayor Brett Smiley’s veto on a rent stabilization ordinance, keeping the proposal from becoming law.
The Council needed 10 votes to override Smiley’s veto. Nine councilors voted yes.
