Katherine Smith Bligard is a Louisiana girl who has only lived in two places: Baton Rouge and St. Louis, Missouri. As a medical student, physician and assistant professor, Bligard has made St. Louis home since 2010.
Bligard graduated from LSU in 2010 with a degree in math. She then pursued her medical career in obstetrics at Washington University School of Medicine, specializing in maternal-fetal medicine, also known as high-risk obstetrics.
Currently, Bligard is an assistant professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Ultrasound at Washington University while also operating as a fetal surgeon and associate director of the Fetal Care Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
