LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – An Owensboro man is facing multiple felony charges after Kentucky State Police say a 3-year-old child was hospitalized in critical condition due to methamphetamine exposure.
KSP Post 16 was contacted the evening of May 16, 2026, by Owensboro Regional Health Hospital after the child tested positive for methamphetamine. Due to the child’s condition, the victim was transferred to Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville for specialized care.
Troopers detained the child’s father, Gary D. Walker, 43, of Owensboro, during the investigation at the hospital. Police say Walker was found with synthetic urine concealed in his undergarments, allegedly to alter a drug test. A search of his vehicle also reportedly turned up a small metal vial with white residue…
