12-year-old girl struck by car; CNY Central crew gives witness statement

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — A 12-year-old girl suffered serious injuries and is currently in critical but stable condition after being struck by a car on James Street.

The Syracuse Police say the accident happened just before 5:45 p.m. Sunday, in the 700 block of James street. A CNY Central crew witnessed part of the incident while waiting at a red light. Our crews stayed on scene, called 911 and cooperated in the police investigation.

Upon arrival, officers located a 12-year-old female in the roadway suffering from serious injuries. The juvenile was transported by American Medical Response to Upstate University Hospital, where she is currently listed in critical, but stable, condition…
