UPDATE: Seven Cabins Fire grows to 8.9K acres; 0% contain

UPDATE — As of Sunday evening, May 17, fire officials said the Seven Cabins Fire has grown to 8,971 acres and is still 0 percent contained. There are 276 fire personnel on scene, fighting the blaze.

The fire continued to grow Sunday towards the northeast. Crews kept the fire south of Highway 246 and improved control lines to slow the spread. The communications array on Summit Peak is unaffected by the fire and continues to function properly.
