After finishing 4th at the District 5 Tournament, the young Goats squad faced a winner-to-state matchup on Saturday against District 6 champion Medical Lake in some of the toughest weather conditions imaginable. Through constant rain, heavy wind, and even three separate hail storms — including a 20-minute delay due to hail covering the field — the Goats never backed down.
Chelan came out swinging early as Jayden Elliott launched a leadoff home run in the first inning to give the Goats a 1-0 advantage. The offense kept rolling from there, plating 3 runs in the second, 2 more in the third, 1 in the fourth, and 5 runs in the fifth inning to secure a dominant 12-4 victory over the Cardinals.
