ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – The 42nd running of the Gold Nugget Triathlon saw about 1,700 women turn out at Bartlett High School Sunday.
One of those women, co-founder Diane Barnett, has been a part of the race since the very start.
“We probably had about 400 to 300 that first year here at Bartlett,” the 81-year-old recalled of a few years into the race, before gesturing to a parking lot filled with bikes behind her Sunday. “This year, you can see what we have.”…
