Bakersfield police arrest 4 in DUI checkpoint; 7 vehicles impounded

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Bakersfield Police Department said that four drivers were arrested for allegedly driving under the influence, and seven vehicles were impounded during a DUI and driver’s license checkpoint on Saturday, May 16th.

It was held from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. in the 1400 block of Union Avenue.

A total of 1,098 vehicles were screened by officers. Six drivers were detained for further sobriety level evaluation. BPD reported that one of the four drivers arrested for DUI has a previous DUI conviction…
