FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A man accused of driving without a license – but with a substance in his system – was caught allegedly driving recklessly through Fort Wayne early Sunday morning.
Shortly before 2 a.m., an Indiana State Police trooper spotted an SUV weaving in and out of its lane on Jefferson Boulevard near Freeman Street. The driver allegedly kept swerving until the intersection with Main Street, where the trooper tried to pull over the SUV. Instead of stopping, the driver led the trooper on a pursuit near downtown, according to a press release from ISP.
The Fort Wayne Police Department laid down stop sticks that deflated the SUV’s tires south of downtown near Pontiac and Lafayette streets. Once the SUV came to a stop near Creighton and Barr streets, the driver allegedly ran away. The FWPD caught him after a short pursuit on foot, according to the release…
