Knoxville Area Transit to provide shuttle service to Savannah Banana games

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The city is working to make it easier for those attending one of the Savannah Bananas games this weekend to get to the stadium while attempting to reduce congestion.

Knoxville Area Transit will be shuttling people to Covenant Health Park and Neyland Stadium for the upcoming Savannah Bananas games on May 21 and May 23.

For the game on May 21, the free Downtown Connector will begin its gameday routing at 3 p.m. The bus will run every 15 minutes, picking people up at Summer Place next to the Langley Garage. Riders will then be taken directly to Willow Avenue, which is a short walk from the entrance of Covenant Health Park at the corner of Stadium Way and E Jackson Avenue. A map of this route can be found at www.katbus.com/covenant-health-park/. The route will run until after the game finishes.

The buses will then drop people off at the Walters Life Sciences Building. After the event, the buses will pick them up at the same building to take them back to the coliseum or to Market Square.
