(Glenwood) — Mills County officials are expected to go back to the drawing board on proposed renovations in portions of the county courthouse.
At its regular meeting last week, the county board of supervisors unanimously accepted a bid from Blum Brothers Construction for $91,650 to renovate the clerk of court portion of the courthouse, along with window repairs in some parts of the building. The bid was one of four received for the projects. However, Mills County Auditor Amber Farnan tells KMA News that the board will likely have to rescind its acceptance of the proposal due to requirements for renovating some of the courthouse’s restrooms.
“In the course of things, we found out that county can not make any improvements to any of the restrooms in our building unless it includes making them ADA compliant,” said Farnan. “The bids were just to kind of remodel them and since all of them were in the same bid packet, we’re going to have to rescind them on Tuesday and then work out how to have that redone.”…
