For one week only, Pastiche is taking a turn toward old-world German cooking with the help of a chef whose name longtime Milwaukee diners may remember well.
From May 19-23, Chef Michael Engel will welcome veteran chef Axel Dietrich into the kitchen for a special German dinner menu that pays tribute to the hearty, comforting dishes of Dietrich’s homeland.
“I was hungry for rouladen last year, and it got me thinking about how I could do something with German food at the restaurant,” says Engel. “The food is relatively time intensive, so it makes sense to make it intentional. Ultimately, I called Chef Axel Dietrich and we planned for him to come and cook here at Pastiche with me for a week.”…
