(COLORADO SPRINGS) — As more people hit the road this summer, Colorado State Patrol (CSP) is cracking down on dangerous driving. The agency is launching Operation I-25 State-to-State this Friday, which lasts through Memorial Day on Monday, May 25. During that time, troopers will conduct heightened traffic enforcement along I-25 from Colorado’s border with Wyoming all the way to New Mexico.
Memorial Day also begins what law enforcement calls the “100 Deadliest Days of Summer,” which they say historically sees a spike in deadly crashes. According to CSP, between May 26, 2025, and September 1, 2025, troopers responded to 200 crashes on I-25 in El Paso County. CSP said 28 of those resulted in injuries, 7 resulted in serious injuries, and one was fatal.
