SALINE, MI – Saline city officials finalized a citywide special assessment Monday that charges local properties around $646,700 to help fund fire protection services.
The resolution confirms the city’s annual fire protection assessment roll — a parcel-by-parcel breakdown of what each property will pay — following Monday’s city council meeting. The charges will be collected alongside regular property taxes and, if unpaid, become liens on properties as the city works to cover more than $1 million in projected fire service costs. The levy is expected to raise just over $1 million.
